Auburn Police arrest man for theft of property first degree

Auburn, Ala. - On April 22, 2024, Auburn Police arrested Tobaris Akeem Freeman, age 33, from Auburn, AL, on a felony warrant charging him with theft of property first degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to a stolen vehicle call on April 22. Officers met with a complainant who reported that a vehicle had been stolen from an area located near the 300 block of East Glenn Avenue. The complainant advised that the vehicle was stolen just prior to police receiving the call. Within minutes of responding to the reported theft, officers located the vehicle unoccupied near the intersection of East Glenn Avenue and East University Drive.

Officers also located Tobaris Akeem Freeman nearby, who was fleeing on foot after abandoning the stolen vehicle. After further investigation, Freeman was arrested and charged with theft of property first degree.

Freeman was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $5,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
